We at the Old Oilhouse haven't a clue if the film is getting closer, or if it exists at all, but an interesting image has hit Twitter, courtesy of Senior VP of Production at Sony/Columbia Pictures DeVon Franklin. It could be concept, it could be unused art, it could be something used to sell the film.
What it is, is Battle Cat, and it is badass.
We would excerise a note of caution here, as it seems strange that a high-ranking studio executive would post something of this ilk. When asked for an update on the film, and he replied with:
"Will know more soon. New chairman at sony, gotta get in sync with the studio. As soon as I know I'll report back."
That was followed by the following comment from a fan:
"If @Guardians can make 700 million plus at worldwide box office no reason #MastersOfTheUniverse can't do same."
Franklin posted the above image with his response that read "I totally agree!!!".
There has been no confirmation of where the picture came from, but really, does it matter?
