It's not often I use song lyrics to start a review but I had the idea for this and it would not shift, "I'm gonna send him to outer space, find another race."
OK the line doesn't really apply to the figure but I got that space theme in my head and the young Stu got that chance to push this song to the forefront of my brain and I had to use it!

Cosmos and Payload.
So it's another Generations Legends class 2 pack review!
So Cosmos is based heavily on his G1 apperance and he transforms from a UFO to a robot.
He's molded in a delightful shade of green and yellow and has a good selection of paint apps.

So Cosmos is based heavily on his G1 apperance and he transforms from a UFO to a robot.
He's molded in a delightful shade of green and yellow and has a good selection of paint apps.
In his UFO mode Cosmos is a tight little "disk former", there's some great detail work on there ranging from the boosters at the back and the guns at the front. He's mostly covered in what I like to call "tech gubbins". It's sculpted on there but I've no idea what it's meant to do. It's a fun little alt mode to have, you can even put him on a flight stand and have him flying around your displays!
Transforming Cosmos into his robot mode is fairly simple and once you've done it a few times it becomes a fun little set of twists and clips and gives ypu a great robot mode. The robot mode is chock full of articulation and you can even kind of get away with a double knee joint because of how he transforms. There's a selection of extra detail on show in robot mode, little jets in the back of his legs and the extra yellow panlelling on his shoulders. The jet boosters flip down to even give him a little jet pack.
One thing that deserves a little extra attention is the head. It's a nice sculpt picked out with some nice paint, it perfectly suits the figure. However transforming it always has me worried. You pull the head up out oif the chest and you basically have to lever it out using your nails. You have to be careful as this can scrape the paint off. It has to be said the head sits nice and stable when it's out, I'm always afraid of toys like this losing the ability to keep their heads up.

So we've talked about Cosmos lets talk about his Mini-Con partner Payload.
Payload transforms from a shuttle, to a twin barrel blaster and a robot. He's molded in white plastic with some paint apps in gun metal, red, blue and black. He's also got a bright yellow gun handle in the centre of his chest.

As a shuttle he does the standard Mini-Con/Micromaster trick of lying down with his wings folded down. It's nothing exciting but it's not terrible. It does have the cool trick that you can plug Payload onto Cosmos, it looks like either Cosmos is pushing Payload around space or Payload is pulling Cosmos. I'll leave it up to you, the reader, to decide.
Changing Payload into his gun mode is a simple set of moves and it gives you a decent looking blaster. There isn't a lot to say about it really, to qoute a friend "It is what it is."
Robot mode for Payload is a pretty simple thing. it's shuttle mode with his wings folded up. Slick and myself always joke about how "complicated" it is. Payloasd looks good as a robot. The blue and red on the face stand out well and the yellow gunbarrel helps to break up the chest.
Payload is pretty good overall. You can't expect much from the little guy he's just a little additonal piece to go with Cosmos.
Cosmos is a good figure paired with an average Mini-Con. You should get one.
