Stakeout is a repaint of everyone's favourite Wave 1 figure, Smolder. He transforms into a “rescue truck”
In his truck mode Stakeout has some nice “emergency” paint apps. Nothing clearly marks him out as a Police vehicle or an Ambulance, I tend to think of him as a Police van, ties in better with his name. There's not a lot to say about this mode that I didn't already say in the Smolder review.
As a robot he shares the same weaknesses as Smolder, it has to be said though that the elbow joints on my Stakeout are a LOT tighter than the ones on my Smolder. The paints apps are nicely spread out in robot mode, the hazard chevrons are on the shoulders and some of the chest details are picked out in blue.
Not much else I can say about robot mode, lets move on to Torso mode!
He's partnered with the Protectobots and they look OK together but more on those limbs later.
As I've said before if there was an Arctic version of Mobine I think they'd look great together.
So who needs protection? With Drones and stuff..... Yeah....
This team doesn't mesh so well. The Destrons work as they all fit as military type vehicles. Having two tanks in a rescue team doesn't fit as well. Before anyone complains about it I know several tanks have been retro fitted into rescue vehicles, it's more the fact that the colour schemes they used don't make them look like rescue vehicles. A Police marking on the APC would've gone some way to fix that.
It makes it look like half of the team causes the problems the other half of the team need to rescue people from.
Well we're all done here. Next week it's time to look at my favourite release from Wave 3 Crankcase and the Destrons.
He sometimes takes epic trips to Newcastle, and tells tales of these sagas often.
When not watching people in spandex fight each other he paints miniatures, go HERE to take a look.
