A famous wrestlers entrance theme once said “you'll be serving hard time”. Reviewing Wave 3 of the PCC line is starting to feel like hard times. But it's almost done, this is the second to last of Wave 3 and the first of the 5 man teams for that Wave. Let's say go!
With massive thanks to Terry Hewitson, we have a collection of the original Playmates Skeleton Warriors toyline for youselves!
Skeleton Warriors were first released by Playmates in 1994. Some of the figures were rereleased by Re:Play in 2002. Sadly the second series of figures that were never released by Playmates were not released by Re:Play. When it comes to sub-genres of games everyone has and always has had their own preference. However, in the golden era of gaming it was pretty obvious what the most popular style of game was, and to paraphrase a famous games magazine of the time “Nothing beats the satisfying smack of a fist in the mouth!”. After the martial arts film craze of the 1970's, people were starting to embrace gaming as the interactive alternative, and all of a sudden the world was crazy for beat 'em ups!
If you are a regular of The Old Oilhouse, and of Gruffy in particular, you'll know that whales in power armour make us very , very happy. Hauke Scheer has sclupted a amazing figure full of character, and recently has begun 3-D printing extra parts and smaller figures to go with the Mighty Mechawhale.
However... that is not all..... Hauke has also created a series of animated shorts to go with the figure. Give 'em a watch then go visit Deep Fried Toys and Sculpteo It's Welcome to Kimia time again! Join Stu and Trick as they go through the small amount of news for this week! (Thanks to Timey for this weeks header image!)
Jump this way to listen in! The Old Oilhouse is proud to once again have a Live Lock-In at Auto Assembly!
We are starting at 5pm on Saturday 22nd August in the Dorset Suite.... And who knows what the topics, banter or questions will be. One thing to be certain of though, It will be unforgettable, unforgivable and most certainly centered around Rob's pretty hair. Come on down and join the fun! |
