"Love the work of Lew throughout his career. I'll admit though... it's Shortfuse the Cybernik I always go to, even though the man is very talented and has a long and storied career"
Lew Stringer was the cartoonist all the cool kids looked to whenever they read through the letters page of their favourite comic book (mostly the ones with the form changing android aliens.... That's right, Robot Capers) and reached the ravenous bad boy known as Combat Colin. As a kid, I pretended Colin was an Action Force dropout with delusions of grandeur, but still wanted to do good. Unbeknown by me, Lew was also behind the scenes of a lot of my reading material in the early 90s, predominantly Sonic the Comic. As a bit of unintentional humour, you always knew when Lew was in charge, because suddenly Sonic became a cockney wideboy with the accent to match! I think Lew should one day do an alternative cover to a GI Joe comic, redesigning the characters in his distinct style.
