A famous wrestlers entrance theme once said “you'll be serving hard time”. Reviewing Wave 3 of the PCC line is starting to feel like hard times. But it's almost done, this is the second to last of Wave 3 and the first of the 5 man teams for that Wave. Let's say go!

A wrestling theme song once said “you don't know what trouble is” I now what trouble is, I know the trouble of a really bad pairing of Mini-Con to PCC Commander and I'm gonna talk about it here.
A great wrestling entrance theme once said “No chance, that's what ya' got!” and no chance is exactly what this weeks PCC had. Why do I own it? Why am I reviewing it? Well it's what I do.
Repaints are a natural part of most Transformers lives. For every Optimus there is a potential Nemesis Prime. For every Starscream you KNOW there's going to be a Skywarp and a Thundercracker. Even the Power Core Combiner line had repaints....... OK lets get this out of the way straight away. The next few weeks reviews will be shorter than usual . I make no apologies about this The next 5 reviews (including this one) are all repaints. Wave 3 was the “save some cash” wave. There was no “alternative head”, no “re-molded chest” anywhere here. All of Wave 1 was repainted and the drones/Mini-Cons where taken from their partners and spread around the rest. Some worked some didn't. All of the problems/good things from their Wave 1 origins. So with that out of the way shall we get into it?
So the first Wave 3 Commander set is Windburn and Darkray Hmm wrestling reference.... hmmmmmm..... What could I use in connection between wrestling and a guy called MUDslinger.... Hmmmm Nope I got nothing this week. There is no connection AT ALL. Ahh well lets just get into the review.
There's something I want you guys to know. I DID. NOT. WANT. To write this review. This will not be over quickly, you will not enjoy this, however it must be done, lets get this over with.
Can you dig it.... SUCKAH!!!!!!!!!
It's time for another PCC review, this time we look at the beginning of the Decepticons dominance of the PCC line. Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, The Old Oilhouse proudly brings to you it's toy review tag team champions of the worrrlllldddd!!! The guy who writes it, Stu, the cat that sleeps, Sally, The new age reviewers!
This week we continue with Wave 2 with a homage to Powermaster transformers, why did they choose to do it with a Power Core Combiner? Lets find out. Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Dark.... Ageis. Well actually it's Stu, but my Paul Heyman reference sounds a lot better with my web name.
Today we start on the first of the Wave 2 figures, will Wave 2 improve on Wave 1? Or will it spiral into a well of crappiness? A great wrestler once said “OH YOU DIDN'T KNOW?” and if you didn't know what was going to be the subject of this review then to quote him further, “YO' ASS BETTER CALL SOMEBODY!”
It's yet another Power Core Combiner review! |
